Who We Are
The Gilstad Literacy Foundation (GLF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to promoting early childhood literacy in Charlotte County. Founded in 2021 by Dr. Dennis and Shawn Gilstad, GLF took over the management of the Charlotte County Imagination Library (CCIL) to ensure that every preschool child has access to free, high-quality books.
What We Do
We are an affiliate of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library and provide free books through the program to children first born until they are five years of age. Books are mailed directly to each child from Tennessee by the national program. Children receive a book each month for a total of 60 books.
